Essentially MVC began when a brilliant fella created Ruby on Rails. You know those guys that make Basecamp, its the same guys.
I got my feet wet with MVC using the record shop tutorial. Now Rick Anderson has a updated tutorial using the features inside MVC4. The tutorial is here.
