Personally I have a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba. My masters dissertation was in the field of Visual Programming and since then I have worked on challenging UI projects.
With zero knowledge of working on the Windows platform I was hired by Cognos (now part of IBM) to work on their new products specifically to design and develop the UI for their Windows products.
From their I moved on to Nortel where as a short term contractor I built (or rather “rebuilt”) a product from Mac to Windows. And so the story carries on from working on a ASP web page for Telus Communications, developing a database solution at Birthdays and a project (finance) tracking software at Co-operative Finance.
Recently I am working on projects in .Net for three clients and another in PHP.
Previously I’ve worked on two e-commerce projects where a high-level of core customisation was needed. There has been a .Net application to transfer data from a e-commerce system to Quickbooks. And now I’ve taken a open-source ASP.Net CRM and extended it with a customer portal with limited capabilities. I really needed to figure out the database and technology to implement this successfully.
I now am seeking further opportunities in freelancing in systems analysis or system architecting. If you have that need why not allow me the opportunity to show you what I can do.
